Ladies on 2nd place!
This weekend Tomášov had once again re-lived with Lacrosse, thanks to this year’s Tricksters cup, which for the first time also included a women’s tournament. The tournament was based on a simple method “everyone against everyone”, so together during the weekend, there were played six matches. The competing teams came from Italy, Bulgaria and Austria. Ladies, combined with players from Prievidza, were ready to leave their souls on the pitch and shoot goals into their opponent’s net.
On Saturday we were welcomed by the beautiful weather and the tournament had started with the match of teams Milano Baggataway against Sofia Ninjas. The match finished with victory of players coached by an American – Ninjas. The next two matches were played by our Ladies. In the first one we lost against Vienna Monarchs 12:2, but the second we won over the Bulgarians 9:6. For most of the players was this tournament the first, that’s why our girls organized a camp, where they on different stations, explained the basics of catching, throwing, shooting, cradling and defense. After such an exhausting day, the tired and hungry girls attacked the buffet, where they while eating, talked about their first impressions and lacrosse experiences.
On Sunday, the weather wasn’t as kind as on Saturday and we had to end the last match earlier, due the heavy rain. After the matches, followed the award and MVP ceremony. MVP in our team received Ľubica Kopčová. Overall Ladies finished at second place. First were Vienna Monarchs, 3. finished Sofia Ninjas and on the 4. place finished Milano Baggataway.
Even though we brought ourselves sunburns and muscleaches, but maily a lot off new experiences and friendships. We believe that next year will be at least as good as was this one.
