Tricksters Cup carried home by Austrians
Over the weekend took place at the Slovak somewhat unusual event. The largest lacrosse tournament in Slovakia presented three national teams and two club teams. Tournament organized by the oldest and most famous club in Slovakia Tricksters LT participated in national teams of Slovakia, Austria, Poland and club teams Graz Gladiators and Kosice Knights. After the rainy week, sunny weekend came so the whole tournament was in beautiful weather for decent viewing of Vrakuna fans.
After the first game day has shaped the two teams that have played for first place overall in the tournament. It was as expected, two national teams – home Slovaks and national team of Austria. These two teams met in the last match of Sunday, the overall first place. Probably the best quality tournament match has produced interesting lacrosse.
Slovaks was losing already 2–0 and it seemed that the start-up rivals will not suffice this time. After quick goals of Černák and Thomas Lichtner Slovaks eight minutes before the end tied the game at 2–2 and it appeared that the match turn in their favor. Unfortunately, Austria managed to score a goal in the 3:2 and 4:2 in the footer, the last goal of the match fell to an unsuccessful action Slovaks, who turned all the power to attack. Final result of game 5:2.
Slovaks finally ended the tournament second, Austria premiere enrolled in the statistics as the winner of the tournament. The third place team finished another national team, Poland, fourth place is Graz and fifth finished players from Kosice for whom this was the first start in lacrosse carousel ever.
All the tournament organizers hope that next year will again be strong, while that for an interesting tournament team manages to follow through, perhaps upon the sea. Lacrosse in Slovakia is hungry for a decent sport for men.
