The Best for 2009
In Bratislava’s Hotel Park Inn everything revolved around lacrosse on Friday evening. Why? Because lacrosse club Tricksters LT stock ended the year just for Christmas party where there was finally an opportunity to meet with all the members of the club not only in the jerseys but even more beautiful ceremonial outfit. On this occasion the Tricksters awarded the best players of the last year 2009.
Prizes were awarded in four categories this year, the best rookie, the best woman player, the best man player and the player with the greatest dedication to lacrosse. Winners in those categories are:
The best rookie of the 2009 by head coach: Stanislav Purgat
The best woman player of the 2009 by women's team coach: Romana Hostacna
The best player of the 2009 by votes of fans: Ivan Cernak
The player with the greatest dedication to lacrosse in 2009 by votes of the team players: Martin Kramar
Trickster flourished this year, although the appetite for greater success has really great. Historically, the Slovak lacrosse should be mentioned, especially the organization of the very first female tournament in Slovakia, as well as the overall development of women's lacrosse. A team’s successful interaction in box lacrosse league and field lacrosse league too. Currently as the only club in Slovakia we are able to train players who are able to help Slovak lacrosse not just on the club level but at a national team level too. After all 100% of all the national team players are from our team and it is not just coinsidence.
The future will depend on the players who will join our team. That is why we have big plans in our club. We would like to build the first box lacrosse rink where we hope the top players of our team, Slovak national team and perhaps even the top world players will grow up. The rink should be build within the next 2–3 years in cooperation with the city district Vrakuna. We all believe that despite the huge expenses we will face in the next 4 years (WC 2010, WC box lacrosse 2011, EC 2012, the box lacrosse rink development) we will meet our goals that our lacrosse club Tricksters LT have always the highest.
