Tricksters in Split in fifth place

Lacrosse players Tricksters Bratislava took the final fifth place at the tournament in Split, Croatia, and thus did not repeat at least the third place from the previous two years. Smolný was above all the first match in the basic group when they could not overcome the opponent's goalkeeper who caught well, despite a great effort. Out of all the chances, they scored only once and lost this duel 1:3.

The second match in the group against Jižní mesto from Prague indicated their advancement ambitions, when our boys managed to win narrowly 6:5. Saturday's match against Riga was supposed to decide the advance to the semifinals of the tournament.

However, Latvian lacrosse is no longer what it used to be, and many representatives play in the Riga Griffins jersey. This match was balanced and with the score 2:1 in favor of the opponent, the Tricksters did not take advantage of their chances and scored 2 more goals in the second half and lost 1:4.

The Tricksters did not advance to the final four and only played for 5th to 8th place. In the match for placement, they met the English Peddington Bears, who bit more than ours imagined, and in the end the Slovaks won 7:5. They thus advanced to the match against Jižní Mesto for the final fifth place in the tournament.

The match for fifth place did not start well for our boys and they quickly lost 0:2. However, the strength of the team showed itself at the right time and with five goals in a row, the Tricksters turned the match in their favor and won 5:2.
