Fight in the cage

It was the day after April's fool's day. Sure, why not to play some box lacrosse. And here in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, there it all happened, the first game day of the Eastern Division Czech Box Lacrosse League. Tricksters Lacrosse Team from Bratislava organized this event and was hosting Lacrosse Club Pardubice and Lakros Klub Kromeriz. All of these clubs have also played together in their own open league last season. The winner of the former season was Lacrosse Club Pardubice.
The location of this event was at suburbs of Bratislava on one of the hockey ball rinks that seemed more like a cage than a playfield. The boards were high up to the shoulders with graffiti signs of local »gangstas« all over the place. Concerning how hard these teams play one another every time they scrimmage, this surrounding and the action of the game was not far from the cage tight. Fortunately, there was present an experienced referee Lada Beran, from Czech republic, who kept all within the rules of box lacrosse. The games started with Lacrosse Club Pardubice facing Lakros Klub Kromeriz, who brought for the game only eight players. The game was hard and Kromeriz guys would agree with me if 1 say, very long too when you play only with 8 players. The score was 10:7 for LC Pardubice.
The next game was between Tricksters and LC Pardubice. Tricksters were working hard for during the winter and hoped to play the best they could against their rival. From the beginning the game took rocket pace and started to score the goals. LC Pardubice took a lead from the very beginning and it seemed like Tricksters can't follow behind. The chances came back after Tricksters were able to score 3 goals in a row in about 2 minutes. I think that this is exactly what makes box lacrosse so thrilling, it's not over unless it's really over. This all has psyched both teams up to even greater efforts. At the end, the more experienced LC Pardubice won the match 15:11, but sure Tricksters made them work hard for victory.
The last match was Tricksters vs. LK Kromeriz. Exhausted Tricksters summoned all their forces and 7 minutes before the end were leading 5:4, but like I said you've got to fight till it's over and finally the winner was Kromeriz with the score 5:7. The game day was over, the sun after its highest peak left couple of the players with sunburned facemasks on their faces. Visually, maybe it was a cage fight for somebody, but for the guys involved certainly a great way how to spend the time and live the passion for the sport of lacrosse.
