Prague Cup teen

In the first week of July our girls attended their first big tournament together with team Kromeriz – Prague cup. They met here players from the States, England and Czech Republic. Girls played six games and practiced with world champions 2009 from America and Czech national player Andula Dockalova during four days. Let’s take a look to the tournament day by day.

WEDNESDAY Our players played first match at the favorite of the tournament – American team GSH sky. Girls were not coordinated together what made this game even harder. The result 20:0 proved it. The game against British team Cranleigh was also tough but girls played more in offense and scored two times. Captains of both teams injured their ankle in second period. Our team had to continue without player number 59 Katarina Bratova. Players spent their evening at a minicamp with American players where they could try different game situations.

THURSDAY Girls played against another opponent from USA – GHS Navy on Thursday morning. Ladies tried new tricks which learned at camp in this game. The second game of the day our team played with Czech B-team. Match was tight and results were looking like these two teams will play one more match.

FRIDAY Friday was announced as a free day. Girls used this for a practice with one of the best notational players from Czech Republic – Andula Dockalova

SATURDAY Our players encouraged by new experiences played against Czech A-team. You can actually see the progress our players got during this tournament. Defense became stronger and girls were not afraid to play with more contact. Since girls did not get a point during previous games they had to play the match for the final place immediately. Girls definitely played their best at this tournament even in spite of a huge physical tension. Players no. 7 Milena Ebergényiová and no. 3 Romana Hostečná even twice scored in the row. Although girls lost the last game 5:3 they were an equal opponent.
