Tricksters third on ALO 2018
Over the weekend, another Austrian Austrian Lacrosse Open tournament was held in nearby Vienna. This was attended by six men teams, mainly due to the upcoming world championships in lacrosse, which will be held in Israel for a month.
Lacrosse club Tricksters Bratislava had a group of home Monarchs and Khans from Bulgaria. The tournament system was supposed to win both matches because only winner could fight for the Sunday final. Our boys, however, lost their first game with a lack of discipline, 7: 6 when the opponent scored the winning goal 10 seconds before the end of the game. The course of the match played in our favor and the players in the orange-black combination led through the game. However, the opponent offered too many options for scoring from powerplays, what Monarchs also took advantage.
It was clear that Tricksters will play only for third to sixth place. In the second match of the day, Tricksters played against the Bulgarian Khans, in which they clearly dominated and won 9:2.
On Sunday, Tricksters entered the game against German Erlangen with the knowledge that the same opponent would be waiting for the final third place game in the tournament. Tricksteri, took the game as a chance to learn and played a match in which they managed to win 11:1.
The second match against this opponent was more balanced. The opponent even led 1: 3, but our boys did not shrink the development, the match turned and won 8: 4 and made the third place in the tournament.
Despite the number of teams registered, the tournament was again excellent. Virtually all the teams, except Tricksters and Austrian national team, took advantage of the opportunity to borrow players. The Tricksters, however, go through the paths of their own players, which they themselves educate and give them the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the game with high-quality opponents. Only by such games like these can players advance.
Tricksters already waiting for the last DLL round to meet home Graz and Hungarian Budapest on Saturday 9th.
