NBLL 2009

Tricksters Lacrosse Team as a lacrosse team with the longest history in Slovakia will play in 2009 season not only NFLL (National field lacrosse league), but as well as in the best box lacrosse league in Europe – Czech NBLL (National box lacrosse league). NBLL group draw took place in Prague on 14.2.2009. Tricksters represented manager of the club Pavol Kopernicky.

Tricksters.sk: What are your impressions from meeting representatives of the Czech lacrosse?

"Sure, there was some creative tension in the air, but it is understandable. In the upcoming years the Czech lacrosse awaits many tasks and challenging time. A lot is in the stake. Organising two top international events (Women’s world larosse championship 2009, World box lacrosse championship 2011), confirmation of a good Czech lacrosse name as well as creating more public awareness of this beautiful sport. Certainly, topics like “box lacrosse vs. field lacrosse” and enlargement of NBLL/NFLL can not leave anyone indifferent. In spite of various opinions to some topics the meeting passed in a constructive atmosphere.“

Tricksters.sk: Are you satisfied with the groups draw?

"First of all I appreciate the idea of creators of the groups that the both groups are balanced. All teams get the chance to play against weak as well as strong teams. Personally I appreciate the most the variety of both groups. It is worth of paying attention that in the poor economic situation in which is lacrosse in our part of the world it is a league with teams from three European countries. Therefore to find the best model for all teams was not an easy at all.“

Tricksters.sk: What are the Tricksters LT chances in this league?

„We should realize that we will be playing against experienced teams. We can not have “a big eyes”. Our team is a mix of experienced players and rookies which just started to play. This is a good base to the next seasons. In this season it is important to get to play together and learn from our mistakes. When we will work hard and be patient we would be able to give hard time to many teams. I would not comment our chances for final standing. However, I believe in the future of this team. The most important is to enjoy playing lacrosse, work hard on ourseleves and be patient. The results will eventually surely come.“

Tricksters Lacrosse Team will play in group A against: Radotin, Falcons Millionaires, Old Dogs Plzen, LC Pardubice and LK Kromeriz. In the B group will play Jizni Mesto, TJ Malesice, LC Slavia Praha, LC Sumperk, Bratislava Bats, LC For Fun and Korsinierzy Wroclaw.

It looks like that this season will be more attractive not just in Slovakia, and we hope that Tricksters will contribute on that.
