In Bratislava fifty to fifty
Last weekend held yet another round of NFLL in Bratislava, organized by our club Tricksters lacrosse. The weather during these two days was nothing but crazy. While Saturday seemed like a monsoon rains season, on Sunday in addition to our fans the sun honored us with its presence.
On Saturday our boys entered the game against Vienna with high motivation to beat them after a long time. The game seemed promising after the first half, but unnecessary penalties and undisciplined play of Tricksters seated the opponent on a horse who then was impossible to stop. Tricksters lost again, this time embarrassingly 14:5. The attack was toothless, while the defense failed to fulfill what they said before the game and allowed the opponent to play their game.
Sunday’s game matched up two teams from the bottom end of the table. Tricksters had a slight advantage. Malesice, the past league champions don’t stand up to their prime this season and keep losing all they can. We wanted to take an advantage of this fact from the very beginning and commenced the game with undue respect. Kramar had a top class entry into the game, scoring the first four goals, later joined by Lichtner who added a few more. The opponent woke up at the score 0:6, since when a decent lacrosse could be seen. Both teams had to dig deep and goals started to add up on both sides. In last moments of the game, Tricksters, realizing their lead, tactically held the ball in offense. After the final whistle, Malesice lost in Bratislava 9:17 and thus remain winless for the season. Particularly noteworthy is the performance of our seasoned veterans Kramar with 7 goals and Lichtner with 6 goals. Other goalscorers were Purgat with two goals and Seversky and Englis each scoring once.
Unfortunately the scoring list is quite unintelligible and shows 16 goals for Tricksters instead of 17. The reasoning might be that the scorekeepers made a mistake when player no. 13 scored for Trickster but they granted a goal to Malesice. It remains suspicious as there is no number 13 on roster for NFLL on Malesice team.
Next game between these two rivals will be played on 28–29.9. in Prague, where the boys will first face ambitious Jižní Mesto on Saturday and Malešice on Sunday.
