Tricksters faced a tough draw, having to play two games in a row on Saturday. First up was Jižní Mesto, followed by match against Radotín. The final 3rd game was scheduled for Sunday.
The game with Jižní Mesto would have been quite equal if it hadn’t been for so many lost balls. That proved to be crucial and the game went to Jižní Mesto with score 12:6. The difficulty of the weekend showed in game with Radotín, where our boys couldn’t find a way to overcome the opponent’s defense and lost clearly 19:1.
Sunday held a very important duel with the “patched-up”. It was a close game with the score tied at 6:6 after the first half. After break, Tricksters unusually grabbed the lead with 3 consecutive goals and the team seemed to be headed for the triumph. The opposite was true however. After mistakes in our defense, the opponent managed to score 6 goals in a row and lay a fatal blow that our boys couldn’t avert. Not even 3 minutes of power play after penalizing Slavia player for illegal stick at the very end of the game helped to change the score, and that remained 13:10.
Overall we can say our player fought hard and gave it all, but they seemed to be out of luck and in some situations lacked necessary skill. Too many mistakes in passing, almost no winning face-offs and errors in a game one on one conclude it all. Our goal did not stand strong this time either and let the opponents score too many goals. Tricksters left Prague with 3 losses. In any case, playing three full games in 2 days isn’t very smooth decision and the league should reconsider these steps as it is not an easy task to hold the team together during holidays, especially in an amateur sport.
