Tricksters.sk: Andy, you starts second season in Scotland for RHC Cougars Lacrosse Edinburgh. What is your view on island lacrosse? What gave you play in Edinburgh?
It is difference to play lacrosse in Scotland. My team has mix of player from Scotland, England, New Zealand, France, Canada and Slovakia. However I waited for more. I am not completely disappointed, but level of Scotland lacrosse league is low. If some team is really good it is thanks to Americans or Canada’s players. Good school for me is to see players from different countries how they play and how they react in game. I had a chance to play with defender who played in Virginia lacrosse team when they won NCAA title in 2000 and 2003. He was declaring as a best defenseman of Virginia. It was really nice and unforgettable moments.
Tricksters.sk: How often do you train and how is a difference between practices on Slovakia and Scotland?
Practices are once per week, so I had individual trainings. Team practice is different because our coach and player too is captain of New Zealand national team.
Tricksters.sk: What can scotch learn from us?
National team was really good, but it caused a lot of Americans played for them. League is playable for our team, and I think biggest opponent for us is just Saint Andrews.
Tricksters.sk: How do you like life in Scotland? Life is interesting and different. Edinburgh is beautiful city, maybe the most beautiful which I saw. But weather is typical for this part of world. Every morning when I wake up is raining.
Tricksters.sk: What do you think on, when we say Tricksters?
Win games? No, most I am missing friends from Tricksters.
Tricksters.sk: How did you start play lacrosse and what enjoy you on lacrosse? Firs time I saw lacrosse on TA3, talk with Mark Lichtner. It was near my house so I cam to see there and it was. Next practice I received stick and I started. Lacrosse is ideal for me. It is a mix of speed, roughness, technique and elegance.
Tricksters.sk: You are just 25 years old and most of your carrier before you. How is your lacrosse point?
It is hard to say if I have before. I want to go to USA or Canada and try to play for one good team there. I hope next 3 years it manage. My personal lacrosse point is to play on HBA first time in my life and play on world championship 2010.
Tricksters.sk: Andy, you are the biggest person in every team you play for. On ECH in Finland you was the best scorer and point man of national team. How do you feel this fact?
Thanks. When I was young and played football or hockey, I was attack man. I can not imagine me in another position. For your question that I was best point man, I can say just one thing. The best player for me had healthy problems so it was easier for me.
Tricksters.sk: How do you asses moment, that Slovaks played on Euro first time ever? What was your best moment?
It was nice to play in Finland. I could be in better shape, I could play better. The biggest moment for me was game against Czechs. Sometimes I dream about different result of this match.
Tricksters.sk: Which position do you take on next World championship in Manchester? What we need to change or be better?
It is hard to say, it will be important in which group we will play. It is hard to play against players who play lacrosse 20 years, but I think, that our team has 25 talented individuals, maybe biggest I ever seen. We need to start play simply, for security like in England team I saw.
Tricksters.sk: What is your advice to new players?
At the beginning is lacrosse really hard. A lot of new things which you need to know quickly as you can. After that when you have it in your hand will come first game and you will love this sport forever.
Tricksters.sk: What do you wish yourself for next year?
I hope I will realize some plans which I have. To leave and play in Spain, then go on New Zealand and Australia. This way I want to wish Merry Christmas and happy New Year to all guys.
