The final matches of women's league

This weekend of 2nd and 3rd June were played the last matches of National Women's Lacrosse League in Prague- Radotín. On Saturday, teams of Lax Ladies and Flamingo United – TJ Sokol I. Smíchov stood against each other on the pitch in order to fight for a third place in the league. Right after them was played a game for the title of the league's winner between LCC Radotín and SK Lacrosse Jižní Město.

Our players from Tricksters Ladies took part in the first match with their mix team. This weekend they did not have problem with the number of their players, they even had one spare player to swap. Girls had tried all the time to win another to chance to fight for the third place, as in a case of a victory on Saturday they would have got a chance to play another match on Sunday once again against Flamingo United. Lax Ladies, despite of their effort, needed some time to adjust and get to the game. During the first half, girls had problem to have a solid and compact defence and had too often unmarked players in the eleven who with their skill worth of years of playing had no problem to score. On the contrary, Lax Ladies managed to score only twice during the first half of the game.

The first half of the second half of the match went in a similar fashion as the firs one. However, Lax Ladies were able to hold their offensive and defensive actions for much longer. Even though, the attack was still not able to work up sufficient possibilities to score. The turning point had come with the forty-third minute of the game when Lax Ladies seemingly caught a new breath and woke up. Until the end of the match they were capable to score four times, from which three times Romana Hostačná was lucky to score a goal. In comparison, Flamingo United managed to score only once during this last seventeen minutes. The match ended with a victory for Flamingo United Sokol I. Smíchov with a final score 11:6. This result placed Lax Ladies fourth in the league.

Tricksters Ladies can be relatively content with this part of the season, where they could be a part of a mixed team. We are persuaded that they have left everything on the field in every match and have made their best in order to help their team to be the best it could be. We are glad that some of our beginners were able to taste a bit of what lacrosse really could be. In addition, we believe that soon enough Tricksters Ladies will be able to form their own team that will be a regular competitor in lacrosse competitions and will slowly become a threat for the other teams.
