The first playing weekend of NLWL

This weekend were played the first matches of the 23rd Czech National league of women's lacrosse. Among the participants were also the Tricksters Ladies, who were part of a mixed team the LAX Ladies. This team is composed of three teams altogether – Tricksters Ladies, Sokol Vinohrady from Prague and Baggataway Bees Plzeň. The weather during this whole weekend was really chilly, but even this did not cost the players the enthusiasm to play.

The LAX Ladies had to cope with minor problems because of the lack of synchronisation of the team. Girls did not know each other well and this showed in the final score 11:4. The match was won by their opponent – Flamingo Sokol I. Smíchov. The first goal of the LAX Ladies was scored by Romana Hostačná, a player of the Tricksters Ladies. This goal helped to brighten up a little bit the nervous atmosphere in the team. In the Saturday afternoon the Tricksters Ladies took part with their new team mates in a practice led by Anna Dočkalová. This practice definitely helped the girls to get to know each other better. They also learned some new tricks how to have a funny and effective warm up throw about, few shooting drills and the most importantly they had a lot of fun.

The second playing day LAX Ladies faced SK Lacrosse Jižní Město. The change of tactics reflected on the performance of the whole team, which was capable of much better action than during the previous day. The defence did a good job, but the attack was unfortunately a bit unlucky. The match ended 7:2 for players of Jižní Město. The points for LAX Ladies were gained by the players of the home team of Baggataway Bees Ivana Malíková and Kateřina Mezeyová.

We hope that the cooperation of the team LAX Ladies will be successful and the girls will have a great season full of victories and awesome lacrosse.

Tricksters Ladies were exceptionally surprised and pleased by the debut of their new player Kristína Kučovanská who had no fear to stand side by side with the other players on the field and discover how beautiful the game of lacrosse is.
