Tricksters winners of Austria Open 2011
Incredible, amazing, unexpected. And thus could be characterized participation of representatives of our club at Austrian open the 2011 in Austria.
Tricksters in the group first met with the Bulgarian club Khans, who clearly beat 14:0. In Friday's second match, Tricksters played against home team Monarch. Winner of this game have to step to the quarterfinals from the first place. After a good start, when the Slovaks have already led 3–0 rivals managed to cope. But then again Tricksters took and increased their lead, but rivals were able to follow through on one goal. In conclusion, we left to escape to orange victory and occupied the first place in Group A.
So on Saturday, our guys played quarterfinals against another Austrian team, Graz Gladiators. Tricksters also dominated in the match, although, again, after a good start, and reducing wilt came the gladiators to 3:2. At the end of the match were happier Tricksters, who won 9:3, ensure the participation in the final four of the tournament.
Semi-final against old friend Slavia Prague was really exciting. Tricksters, played well but they went to the second quarter in one goal lose. Thanks to improved play and indiscipline opponent Tricksters managed to score and orange turned game and won 10:8. Tricksters reached to the final tournament.
Sunday's final, was only the culmination of the tournament and met there until undefeated teams, Global players (USA) and our team Tricksters LT. This time missed at all our top game and allowed opponents to score four times. Who would have bet on Tricksters victory at that time? Probably nobody. Nevertheless Tricksters showed heart and fighting and that under no circumstances give up. In first half Tricksters scored 2 goals, and after half time prepared for the Americans, literally a cold shower. First, managed to settle on 4:4 and when both teams were already preparing for extension, decided the victory of orange color Cernak, only 2 seconds before the end of regular time.
Truly memorable moments for all players whom this was first victory ever at any tournament, but for the old gang, who still remember the victory at the Austrian Open in 2007. They also unexpectedly beat Passau in 4:3 in the finals. Celebrations this year were not as buoyant as it was then, but even though it was a wonderful victory and a successful finish of the well prepared tournament.
